dj eric "ET" TAYLOR - 6-9 pm

3RD ANNUAL HYDE PARK BEST STEPPERS CONTEST

Born and bred on the South Side, DJ Eric "ET" Taylor is a Chicago original — a selector whose sets move between worlds without ever losing the thread. Rooted in the city's storied house music tradition, ET built his ear in the clubs and basement parties that shaped Chicago's sound, and it shows every time he steps behind the decks.

With a style that blends classic Chicago house, soulful deep cuts, hip-hop, and R&B, ET reads a crowd the way a seasoned storyteller reads a room — patiently, instinctively, and always with purpose. Whether he's warming up a lounge or headlining a late-night main stage, his sets carry the same energy: authentic, danceable, and unmistakably Chicago.

A staple in the city's DJ community, ET has rocked venues and events across the Midwest, earning a reputation as one of the most reliable and exciting names in the game. Tonight, he brings that same passion, precision, and love for the music. Come ready to move.

THURSDAY, July 9 - 6-9 P.M.

TAMMY MCCANN - 7-8 PM

Tammy McCann is an award-winning, internationally recognized jazz vocalist and the Artist in Residence at the Music Institute of Chicago. Renowned for her powerful and "emotionally charged" voice, McCann uniquely blends classical vocal technique and gospel aesthetics with jazz. The Chicago Tribune describes her as having a "voice that inspires wonder," while critics like Stanley Crouch praise her superb pitch and "polished swing."

Her illustrious career includes touring as a Raelette with Ray Charles and performing alongside jazz legends such as Ramsey Lewis, Von Freeman, and Branford Marsalis. A masterful storyteller, McCann has captivated global audiences at iconic venues including Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center,  as well as international stages from Bangkok to Greece.

Tammy McCann will be performing her new album, “Black Sun” in its entirety.

"Black Sun" is a vibrant sonic tapestry woven from the threads of my Blackness. My modern manifesto for resilience. This collection of songs captures the full spectrum of the Black experience—from the sharp edges of social critique to the tender preservation of innocence.  I wanted to create a  "call and response" across generations. This is a deliberate act of community building that seeks to uplift Black voices, offering a sanctuary of sound and a source of defiant joy during tumultuous times.

dj celeste alexander - 6-7 PM + 8-9 pm

Chicago has always been a city that produces artists who lead with soul, and DJ Celeste Alexander is no exception. A fixture in the city's vibrant DJ culture, Celeste brings a rare combination of technical skill, musical depth, and undeniable charisma to every performance — commanding the room from the first track to the last.

Rooted in Chicago house and deeply influenced by R&B, neo-soul, and hip-hop, Celeste curates sets that feel less like playlists and more like conversations — each song chosen with intention, each transition a seamless move forward. Her ear for what a crowd needs, and what it doesn't yet know it wants, sets her apart.

As one of Chicago's most celebrated women behind the decks, Celeste has built a following that spans generations and neighborhoods. She doesn't just play music — she creates an experience. Tonight is no different. Come prepared to feel every moment.

DJ SELAH SAY - 6-7 PM + 8-9 pm

DJ Selah Say is a Chicago force — a DJ whose name carries weight in the city's music community and whose sets carry even more. With a style that honors the past while pushing forward, Selah Say moves fluidly between genres, weaving together gospel-rooted soul, house, hip-hop, and afrobeats into something that feels both timeless and entirely her own.

The name says it all — Selah, a word that calls you to pause and reflect, and Say, a reminder that music always has something to tell you. That duality lives in every set she plays: moments that make you stop and feel, and moments that make you move without thinking. She doesn't just fill a room with sound — she fills it with meaning.

A respected presence across Chicago's club, cultural, and community spaces, Selah Say has earned her reputation the right way — through consistency, creativity, and a genuine love for the art. Tonight, she brings all of that to the stage. Pause, listen, and let the music say what words can't.
